M Butterfly A Sizzling Romance, Deception & Betrayal.

Tittle: M Butterfly
Genre: Drama
Year: 1993
Plot:Jeremy Irons and John Lone star as lovers in this far-fetched story of a man in a relationship with another man who doesn't know that his partner has a penis. We think new eyeglasses might have been warranted. Also features some delicious full-frontal nudity from real lady Annabel Leventon as she sits naked on a bed waiting for Irons to have sex with her.
David Henry Hwang's screen version of his hit play, while fascinating, is something of a letdown. Inspired by a true story, the tragic (and far-fetched) tale is about a man's self-delusional love for and betrayal by an alluring Chinese man who pretends to be a woman. A deer-in-the-headlights-like Jeremy Irons stars as Rene Gallimard, a nebbish accountant at the French Embassy who falls in love with an opera singer, Song Liling (John Lone). As the two begin an affair, Gallimard rises in rank at the embassy, unknowingly disseminating government secrets. The action unfolds slowly and the film's emotional level never seems to rise above the simmering point of grand tragedy; though the relationship between Irons and Lone is romantic, tender and touching. Lone, in heavy makeup and beautifully dressed, plays a convincingly demure pre-op transgender woman.     source/buy it at tlavideo
